The Logs block finds workflow runs in the current workspace and reads their details. Use it to investigate failures or summarize runs without loading every trace at once.
Find failed runs
Name the query block Find Runs and the detail block Details so the references below match.
- Set Operation to Query Logs, Status to
error, and Time Range to Past 24 hours. - Pass
<findruns.runIds>to a ForEach Loop. - Inside the loop, use Get Run Details with
<loop.currentItem>as Run ID. - Inspect
<details.traceSpans>or pass the protected trace to an Agent for diagnosis.
A Sim trigger can supply a runId directly, so you can skip the query when handling a specific run event.
Configuration
Query logs
Returns matching run IDs. Newest first is the default order.
Get run details
Enter one Run ID to fetch its protected trace, final output, and run metadata.
Outputs
Read a block named Details with references such as <details.traceSpans> and <details.finalOutput>. Costs use credits in both filters and outputs.
traceSpans and finalOutput use the protected log-facing projection described in execution log protection. They do not expose every internal runtime value or change the workflow's runtime result.
Retention
Queries can only return retained logs. On Sim Cloud, Free's default log retention is 30 days; paid plans have no default expiry. Organization and workspace policies can change effective retention. Billing-disabled self-hosted deployments have no plan-based default expiry, but configured retention still applies. See data retention.
