A workspace holds workflows and the resources they use. Its members, settings, and resource permissions determine who can build, run, and manage that work.
Use folders to organize work for the same team. Use another workspace when it needs different members, settings, or resource ownership.
Resources in a workspace
An integration can have several account connections. Each credential has its own access rules; workspace membership alone does not grant use of every connected account or secret.
Roles and resource access
Members have Read, Write, or Admin workspace access:
- Read can inspect workflows and available execution records.
- Write can create and edit workflows and run drafts in the workflow builder.
- Admin can also manage members, settings, and deployments.
The workspace owner has a fixed Admin role. Organization owners and admins inherit Admin access to the organization's workspaces. Credential grants and permission groups add controls for particular resources and actions. See Roles and permissions for API execution, sharing, and inherited-role rules.
Workspace secrets require current use access. Personal secrets belong to their owner; workspace and organization Admin roles do not grant access to them. Runtime resolution respects current credential grants.
Switch to another workspace to edit resources you can access there. Moving or copying a workflow changes where it lives; it does not grant access to the destination.
Drafts, deployments, and sharing
A deployment serves a version of a workflow through an API, chat, or MCP server. Editing the draft does not change the active deployment until you promote the new version. To roll back, promote an earlier version. See Deployments.
Deployments and explicit sharing can make selected resources available outside normal workspace membership. They have their own access rules; they do not expose the whole workspace.
Personal and organization ownership
A personal workspace belongs to an individual account. On Sim Cloud, the account's plan controls workspace creation limits.
An organization workspace belongs to an organization. On billing-enabled deployments, an active team or Enterprise plan allows organization owners and admins to create shared workspaces. Internal members join the organization; external collaborators receive selected workspace access without joining it.
When you accept an invitation as an internal organization member, personal workspaces you own move into the organization, including archived workspaces. The acceptance screen names them before you accept. An external invitation does not move your workspaces. Read the joining consequences before accepting.
Billing-disabled deployments have no plan-based workspace creation cap, and organization members may create organization workspaces subject to deployment and permission settings. See Credits, billing and limits for Cloud limits and Self-hosting for deployment configuration.
