…tions [build images] Deliberate divergence from Node 26 (nodejs/node#62557 made pause()/resume() early-return on destroyed streams). Legacy Readable subclasses like fd-slicer assign `this.destroyed = true` — which hits the prototype setter on modern streams — right before push(null). With the upstream guard, a piped destination's 'drain' can no longer resume the source, so the last buffered chunk is silently dropped and the pipeline never finishes. In practice that breaks yauzl → extract-zip → puppeteer browser installs and other zip/tar tooling, and the same hang reproduces on Node 26.3.0 itself. Keep the Node 24 behavior of letting such streams flush their buffer, and replace the no-op assertion test with a regression test for the fd-slicer pattern (verified: extract-zip now extracts a full chrome-headless-shell archive instead of stopping after the first entries).

…op builds Opening the bundle in Claude Desktop 1.12603.1 did nothing — no preview, no install dialog, no error, zero CPU. Root cause is not our bundle: Claude Desktop's bundled Node (24.16.0) carries nodejs/node#62557 (noop pause/resume on destroyed streams), which deadlocks its zip reader (yauzl/fd-slicer) while inflating any DEFLATE entry whose COMPRESSED size >= the stream highWaterMark — 64 KiB on macOS, 16 KiB on Windows. Our index.js (313 KB compressed) and ornaments.json (150 KB) both cleared it, so the install promise never settled. Tracked upstream as anthropics/claude-code#67865 and #68002 (reproducible across users on macOS + Windows on this build). Fix: pack every entry STORED (uncompressed) so the broken inflate path is never taken; the bundle then installs on affected and fixed builds alike. mcpb pack (2.1.2) only emits DEFLATE and has no --no-compression flag, so we validate the manifest with `mcpb validate` and build the archive by hand with `zip -rX -Z store`. A guard fails the build if any entry is non-Stored. Trade: download grows ~0.53 MB -> ~2.9 MB. Also corrected the header comment, which had wrongly blamed install failures on bundle file count. Positive test for the A/B proof. Same repro harness, same pinned Node 24.16.0 — only the resolved Playwright version changes (1.57.0 -> 1.61.1). Playwright 1.60.0 vendored a patched yauzl/fd-slicer (microsoft/playwright#40747) that no longer relies on resume() of a destroyed stream, sidestepping the Node 24.16.0 regression (nodejs/node#62557). The 'Install Playwright Browsers' step should now finish in ~2-3 min instead of deadlocking. - root package.json + packages/pwa-kit-mcp: @playwright/test/playwright ^1.61.1 - package-lock.json: @playwright/test, playwright, playwright-core -> 1.61.1 - e2e-pr.yml: container image v1.57.0-noble -> v1.61.1-noble (keep tag in sync with the resolved lockfile version, per the existing comment at line 62)

The Node 24.16.0 `npx playwright install` hang is fixed by the Playwright ^1.61.1 bump in the preceding commits (extraction deadlock from the stream regression nodejs/node#62557, resolved in Playwright >=1.60 / Node >=24.18). - Remove the temporary repro workflow (playwright-node24-hang-repro.yml) that proved the fix via an A/B run (1.57.0 hang -> 1.61.1 green on pinned 24.16.0). - Add `timeout-minutes: 15` to the four "Install Playwright Browsers" steps in e2e.yml as defense-in-depth, so any future install hang fails the step fast instead of burning the job's 6h ceiling (the original 26h-run symptom).
