When you meet with your doctor, your info is protected. A healthcare app should be no different.
- We secured a multi-million dollar settlement against Anthem for failing to protect patient data leading up to a 2014 data breach. Anthem’s lax security and oversight affected millions of Americans. It is only appropriate that they face millions of dollars in penalties.
- And we reached a multistate settlement against Home Depot over its credit card data breach. Every company that collects personal data must put its house in order and provide reasonable data security. If they don't, they'll pay the price.
- And in January 2020, the California Consumer Privacy Act came into effect, giving all Californians unprecedented control of their personal data. I encourage each and every Californian to learn about—and exercise—their rights under the #CCPA. #DataPrivacyDay
