Welcome to our GitHub page!
Beeper is a universal messaging app that lets you chat seamlessly across more than 10 chat networks, including WhatsApp, Telegram, and more. Want to use Beeper? Download at beeper.com/download or check out our FAQ.
Beeper is built on top of Matrix, an open-source chat protocol. When we started building Beeper, we made the fundamental decision to open-source most of our backend code and provide you with the option to self-host. We chose this approach because:
- We want you to be able to inspect the source code Beeper uses to connect to other chat networks.
- We want to contribute to the Matrix ecosystem.
- We want to provide robust libraries for others to develop open-source Matrix bridges.
What is a Matrix bridge? Learn more.
[Sponsored] indicates community-maintained bridges sponsored by Beeper.
Want to self-host your own bridges? Follow the instructions at github.com/beeper/bridge-manager.
Beeper Desktop API is the built-in API & MCP server inside Beeper Desktop. Learn more at developers.beeper.com/desktop-api.
Are you as passionate about building the future of chat as we are? We're hiring backend (Go), infrastructure/DevOps (Kubernetes), web (React), iOS, and Android engineers. Check out our open positions.
We also sponsor many open-source projects. Interested in building an open-source Matrix bridge? We offer a bounty program, up to $50K. Read more here.
Three ways to get in touch:
