Cppcheck is a static analysis tool for C/C++ code. It provides unique code analysis to detect bugs and focuses on detecting undefined behaviour and dangerous coding constructs. The goal is to have very few false positives. Cppcheck is designed to be able to analyze your C/C++ code even if it has non-standard syntax (common in embedded projects).
Cppcheclipse is the plugin that integrates the Cppcheck. Combined with CDT it creates a comprehensive and easy-to-use C++ development environment.

I installed cppcheck in Risa's E2 studio (E2 studio is based on Eclipse), but the premium version is gray and cannot be selected; however, the other cppcheck versions are in good condition.

I am using Renesas' MCU IDE E2 Studio. As far as I know, E2 Studio is based on Eclipse. I installed CPPCHECK in E2 Studio, but found that options like MISRA-C in the premium version could not be selected; they were grayed out.

Last version 1.2.1 is broken. Invocation always ends with the error message 'cppcheck: error: unrecognized command line option: "--premium=safety-off"'. What's even worse, I can't revert because the version 1.2.0 has gone from the repository.

Hi,
Same issue for me since i updated cppcheclipse from MarketPlace on August 2025
I do not have idea if it is possible to downgrade cppcheclipse plugin.
I used cppcheck 2.7 and have no way to update it on my Ubuntu station.
Is there a way from cppcheclipse developpers to add a check/uncheck option to be able to deactive this --premium option
Thanks
