- 🐍 I've been writing Python for well over a decade and care a lot about testing and developer tooling.
- 🧂 Long-time core contributor to Salt — one of its earliest and most prolific contributors.
- 🧪 I built a family of
pytestplugins from the ground up to make testing infrastructure and system-level code less painful. - 🦀 Lately I've been reaching for Rust for tooling — see ToolR.
- 📝 I write about Python, testing and infrastructure at blog.algarvio.me.
- 💬 Ask me about
pytest, Salt, test frameworks, packaging, or automating anything.
- ToolR — in-project CLI tooling support, written in Rust (docs).
- refine — polishing and improving codebases automatically with
libcst(docs).
Created and shaped these from day one — I'm no longer actively maintaining them, but they're still in use:
- pytest-salt-factories — write functional and integration tests for Salt.
- pytest-shell-utilities — spawn and assert against shell processes in tests.
- pytest-skip-markers — platform/feature skip markers for
pytest. - pytest-system-statistics — collect CPU/memory statistics for the processes exercised during a test run.
