That's right the redirection could be enhanced too (trying to tell it on python-infra, I don't know where it's configured).

About the NEWS entry I think it's more a FIX broken pypi link than a Update "The Python Standard Library" link?

According to a git grep there's a lot of pypi.python.org/pypi remaining, I think it's worth fixing them all.

Also I don't think we need backport to 2.7, 3.4, and 3.5, but we definitively need to fix this redirection so it still work on those versions.

Such minor documentation fixes don't need a news entry.

I concur with @JulienPalard that it's worth fixing all such links in a single PR.
