The nested option uses the same overrideSchema callback at convertSchema.ts:586-590. The callback can replace the nested variant with a oneOf-only schema at convertSchema.ts:670-679. For { type: 'baz', baz: true }, the nested inner oneOf fails because both replacement branches match, so the sibling matches the outer oneOf. After flattening, all three branches match and the outer oneOf rejects the same value.

This is distinct from the existing non-variant test because the raw variant check enables splicing only for this nested-variant case.
