There's a similar proposal (#1240), but it's from 2019 and doesn't talk about making them like GitHub does.
Describe your feature request
Support for using GitHub Alerts in the application: create shortcuts (like @tip or @warning) to create them and display them as in GitHub markdown files. This doesn't need to be enabled by default, because I know it's not an "original" feature of Markdown.
What problem does this feature solve?
I think this is better for simplifying the work of people who use the application as an editor for files that are then pushed to a GitHub repository (like documentation, README's, etc.).
+1, would be great to see this land — 12 reactions on this after 3 years shows there's clear demand.
Coming from #5223, which got closed as a duplicate of this issue since it's the most specific of the related proposals (this one, #1240, #2115) — it directly asks for GitHub's actual alert syntax.
On implementation: rather than custom shortcuts like @tip/@warning, I'd suggest supporting the standard > [!NOTE], > [!TIP], > [!IMPORTANT], > [!WARNING], > [!CAUTION] blockquote syntax directly — that's what GitHub itself parses, so files stay fully portable (render correctly on GitHub even outside MarkText, and vice versa). A toolbar button or slash-command could still insert the syntax for convenience, without changing what's saved to the file.
Happy to test once there's a PR.
In the meantime, you can use these code blocks, they work right now (tokyo night, catppuccin-mocha theme): click the three dots > copy this message's markdown.

It adds such nice visual flair with clear color coding. Waiting on it as well 🙏
