If I have foo bar foo and URL is https://home.com. I select bar and when I paste (sorry, I just noticed that my english is so bad that I should have written paste and not copy) the URL, I hope to get
foo [bar](https://home.com) foo
I hope it’s clearer now.

I feel it might be confusing if regular pasting created a link, but it would be convenient if some different menu item and keyboard shortcut produced this effect.
I miss this feature too! If the clipboard contains a valid url and text is selected in the editor then create a markdown link with the selected text as the link text.

Well, it’s quite simple. You copy an URL, You select some text in Marktext. You paste the URL to create a linked text.

foo [Copy URL on selected text to get a link · Issue #2029 · marktext/marktext · GitHub](https://github.com/marktext/marktext/issues/2029) fooIf you just want a raw URL, please use
Ctrl+Vgo getfoo https://github.com/marktext/marktext/issues/2029 foo.Li-An commentedon Jun 7, 2020

I too think that this feature would be very nice to have!
It's becoming common enough across other types of editors I use that this is what I would have guessed would happen on paste.

Hi, is the feature already on the roadmap? I come from another editor and want to use MarkText. This feature is really missing.

I think the development is dead. I use Typora.
