All tildes in code fences change to backticks upon switching off source code mode #1788
CommonMark speck specifies that code blocks can be defined with either 3 backticks or tildes. However, when we open a document which is formatted using tildes for the code fences, they are automatically swapped with backticks.
Can you reproduce the issue?
Steps to reproduce
Open a document which uses tildes for code fences.
It automatically changes to backticks.
Enable source code mode, and change them back to tildes.
Disable source code mode and re-enable it.
You'll see that the backticks are back.
Expected behaviour:
Mark Text editor should respect the Common Mark spec and should keep the existing formatting.
Actual behaviour:
Mark Text editor doesn't respect the Common Mark spec and keeps changing the formatting.
