I'm a software engineer in eastern North Carolina with five years of commercial experience building web and mobile applications. Before moving into software engineering, I served for 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps. I'm also a Vets Who Code graduate.
My background includes React, TypeScript, and React Native for web and mobile applications, with backend work in C#/.NET, Node.js, and PostgreSQL. My product experience spans construction technology and agriculture.
At WakeCap, my recent work has involved extensive use of AI coding tools to help develop a construction management platform that brings together project schedules, progress tracking, and site imagery. I work with Codex and Claude by explaining problems, supplying application context, and directing iterations.
Previously, at Growers, I built web and mobile CRM platform using React, React Native, Node.js, Sequelize, and PostgreSQL.
- Down East Cyclists — I maintain a cycling club platform built with Next.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL. It includes Stripe memberships and renewals, member administration, and trail maintenance reporting.
- Learn Hungarian — A personal language-learning project focused on Hungarian verbs.
- Vets Who Code — I'm a program graduate, open-source contributor, and author of JavaScript and React tutorials.
I have a B.S. in Information Technology with a cybersecurity concentration, graduating summa cum laude. Away from the keyboard, I'm into cycling, mountain biking, pickling, learning Hungarian, and looking after my runner ducks.
