Summary

On a phone in landscape beside a camera, full-width text means a lot of eye travel. This adds two options to the iOS prompt:

  • Column width — Full / 80% / 65% / 50% of the stage.
  • Column side — Near Camera / Left / Center / Right. Near Camera resolves against the physical orientation (UIDeviceOrientation): landscape-left puts the column on the left edge where the front camera is, landscape-right on the right, so it stays beside the lens whichever way the phone is held.

Both live in Settings and in the in-session reading controls (next to Reading Position and Text Size), persist through AppModel, and are carried by PromptSessionConfiguration / PromptDisplaySettings like the existing options. Applied as a frame(maxWidth:) + alignment around PromptTextView, inside the mirror transform, so mirroring still flips the whole stage.

Defaults are Full / Center — nothing changes for existing users.

Includes a Swift Testing case for the Near Camera side resolution.

⚠️ Testing status

Written without Xcode. All touched files pass swiftc -parse, and the change follows the exact patterns of readingPosition / fontSize already in the codebase, but it has not been compiled against the iOS SDK or run on a device. Please build before merging; happy to fix anything the compiler or a device turns up.

Adds a column width (Full / 80% / 65% / 50%) and a column side (Near
Camera / Left / Center / Right) to the prompt. Near Camera resolves against
the physical orientation, so in landscape the column sits on whichever
edge the front camera is on. Both are in Settings and adjustable during a
session from the reading controls, and persist like the other options.

A narrower column beside the camera keeps the eyes close to the lens.
