I am a data engineer from Ethiopia. I have built data and software systems for more than ten years, first in Ethiopia and later in the Netherlands.
I run DataTwinLabs, my own company for data and AI work. At the moment I work as a data engineer for an agricultural intelligence company. I build data pipelines with Python, BigQuery and dbt, and data marts for Power BI. I also work on a tool that answers questions in plain language, from the data.
Before that I worked at ICAP in Ethiopia. I built a malaria data system on DHIS2. Health workers in 680 facilities use it to report. Reports that took weeks now take less than one day. I also built the slide bank system for EPHI.
I finished my EngD in Data Science at TU/e Eindhoven in 2025. My research was on urban digital twins. The paper was published and I was a finalist for the KIVI EngD Award.
Tools I use most: Python, SQL, BigQuery, dbt, Kafka, Spark, DHIS2, Docker, Git.
Some of my work is in the repositories on this page. The pinned ones are the best place to start.
