Initiative description

Define a vendor-neutral Sustainable DRA Driver Power Profile & Telemetry Conformance Specification for Kubernetes DRA drivers, establishing standardized power-profile metadata, workload-attributed power and energy telemetry, and conformance requirements. The initiative will also develop an automated conformance test harness to validate driver implementations against the specification and enable interoperable sustainability telemetry across heterogeneous devices.

Related initiative:

While #1675 identifies sustainability challenges and opportunities in areas such as energy tracking, power capping, and efficient resource scheduling, this initiative focuses on translating those recommendations into a concrete, vendor-neutral conformance specification for Kubernetes DRA drivers. It defines standardized power-profile metadata, workload-attributed power and energy telemetry, and automated conformance validation, enabling practical adoption of the sustainability practices identified in #1675 across heterogeneous accelerator and device drivers.
