The "license" field has read ISC since the initial commit, which is the npm init default and was never a deliberate choice. The LICENSE file added three days later is the full AGPL-3.0 text and GitHub detects the repo as AGPL-3.0, but every npm consumer of @browserstack/mcp-server currently sees ISC on the package page. Align the manifest (and the lockfile's root entry) with the actual licence using the SPDX identifier. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Cline's MCP Marketplace requires a 400x400 PNG; Kiro and Smithery also display a server icon. The existing assets are a 200x200 generic MCP glyph and a 1387x331 wordmark with a baked-in dark background, neither of which fits. This is the official BrowserStack mark (the GitHub org avatar, 460x460 RGBA) downscaled with Lanczos to 400x400, transparent background. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Marketplace listing prep (Cline, Smithery, Kiro), cross-cutting items 2 and 3 plus the Kiro step 1 from the ENG plan page. - llms-install.md: agent-oriented install guide. Cline reviewers test that an agent can set the server up from README or llms-install.md alone; the README is 800+ lines of mixed marketing and setup. Covers the hosted OAuth remote and the npx stdio install for the common clients, optional env vars, a verification step and troubleshooting. - server.json: add a `remotes` entry for https://mcp.browserstack.com/mcp (streamable-http). Registry mirrors (GitHub, Kiro) only advertise the npm install today. Validated against the 2025-10-17 server schema; the registry's remote validation only requires https, no localhost and no template variables, so the io.github namespace is unaffected. - README: "Add to Kiro" deep links (hosted and local) beside the one-click VS Code/Cursor buttons in both places they appear, and a Kiro entry in the per-client config list. The README is being restructured in browserstack#457, and the Kiro config entry conflicts with that rewrite. The links move to the stacked README PR (browserstack#463) so product can weigh in on featuring Kiro; the Kiro install config stays in llms-install.md. Summary
All four cross-cutting engineering prep items from the Cline, Smithery and Kiro Marketplaces — MCP Server Listing Plan, No code changes. Four commits: one per concern, plus the README revert.
1. Licence field: ISC → AGPL-3.0-only (
0d33a38)package.jsondeclares"license": "ISC", while the repo'sLICENSEfile is the full GNU AGPL-3.0 text and GitHub detects the project as AGPL-3.0.npm initdefault; the AGPLLICENSEwas added deliberately three days later. The field was never updated.@browserstack/mcp-servershows ISC, so downstream consumers and marketplace reviewers see a licence that contradicts the repo.AGPL-3.0-onlyinpackage.jsonand the lockfile's root entry.2. 400×400 icon (

README "Add to Kiro" links: moved to #463
Originally in commit
22f1289, reverted inf404f88. The Kiro links conflicted with the README rewrite in #457 and featuring a new client in the README is a product call, so they now ride the stacked README PR #463 where product can weigh in. The Kiro install config stays inllms-install.mdhere.Review note
The licence change alters the string published to npm on the next release, so it should get a Legal/manager sign-off before merge. If the intended licence is in fact ISC, the correct fix is instead to replace the
LICENSEfile.Not in this PR
llms-install.md(QA step). Worth doing on this branch before the Cline issue is refreshed./.well-known/mcp/server-card.json. Lives in the remote-mcp-server wrapper and is only needed if Smithery's OAuth-aware scan fails; the hosted endpoint already returns the correct401+WWW-Authenticateand both well-known OAuth documents.LICENSEhas no BrowserStack copyright line and the README has no License section; cheap follow-ups once the licence is confirmed.Test plan
