The Project goal is to create the Entity Relation Diagram for the Airline Reservation System. The contributors are going to enhacce skills like team working, problem solving, and make a database that could be useful for the aimed organizations.
An innovative and structured Flight Booking System designed for efficient airline operations. This project models the key processes of airline management — including flight scheduling, passenger reservations, seat management, service add-ons, and payment processing — using a well-defined and advanced entity-relationship (ER) diagram.
- Airline.drawio – A detailed ER diagram illustrating the workflow and structure of the flight booking system.
- Airline-Reservation-System.pptx – A presentation providing a step-by-step walkthrough of the system's entities and relationships.
The diagram illustrates the primary components and interactions of the flight booking system, including:
- System Roles: Passengers, operators, and airline administrators.
- Flight Management: Scheduling flights, tracking routes, and managing seat assignments.
- Reservation Workflow: Booking seats, managing passenger data, and maintaining reservation statuses.
- Payment Integration: Handling transactions for reservations and tracking payment statuses.
- Add-On Services: Managing additional services like luggage, meals, and in-flight entertainment.
- Database Relationships: Well-defined links between entities (e.g., passengers, flights, payments) for data integrity.
The diagram serves as a blueprint for developing secure, scalable, and efficient airline reservation systems.
This project was created as part of a design and modeling exercise to produce a realistic and functional airline reservation system. The objectives include:
- Streamlining the flight booking lifecycle for passengers and staff.
- Providing a robust structure for managing flights, seats, payments, and services.
- Offering a scalable model for implementing airline software with advanced features.
The ER diagram showcases key entities such as Airlines, Airports, Flights, Passengers, Reservations, Payments, and Services, along with their relational mappings.
