Impact

REQUIRED: Choose either Tooling Impact or Customer Impact (or both). At least one checkbox must be selected.

Tooling Impact

  • Required tooling change
  • Optional tooling change (include reasoning)

Updates Microsoft.PowerShell.Native from 700.0.1 to 700.0.2 so the release uses the latest native package.

Customer Impact

  • Customer reported
  • Found internally

Ensures WinRM remote sessions receive the expected up-to-date trusted platform assembly list.

Regression

REQUIRED: Check exactly one box.

  • Yes
  • No

This is not a regression.

Testing

The original change adds a remoting test that compares the local trusted platform assembly list with the WinRM remote-session list and verifies the two intentionally excluded assemblies. The backport cherry-picked cleanly onto release/v7.4.21, and the resulting worktree is clean.

Risk

REQUIRED: Check exactly one box.

  • High
  • Medium
  • Low

This updates a native package dependency used by the core runtime and affects WinRM remoting initialization. The change is narrowly scoped to a patch package update and includes targeted test coverage.

🔵 Needs a closer look

The native runtime dependency affects core WinRM initialization and warrants final human validation despite the focused regression test.
