Summary
VS Code 1.108.0 can retain unconsumed terminal-output events in its main process until JavaScript heap exhaustion closes the whole application. Add a reversible local backport of microsoft/vscode#323980, scoped to the exact inspected build and SHA-256.
The repair preserves management-event buffering, validates the patched bundle, backs up the original, and supports check/install/remove operations. Documentation records the crash evidence, full-restart requirement, and rollback procedure. This repair is separate from Agent Attention's extension changes already on main.
Validation
The repair is installed locally but requires a full VS Code restart. Long-running stability after restart has not yet been verified. Tests for the backport require the supported local VS Code 1.108.0 installation.
