Is GooseMod against Discord ToS?

Whilst, yes, client mods are against ToS. The chance you would be banned just for using a client mod with visual changes (not using Discord's API, etc.), is slim. Discord doesn't (currently) try and prevent / ban users who use client mods. To notice users of most / some client mods, they would have to add special measures to do so, but they probably don't worry / really care about users just using it to change appearance, etc. (like most users).

Is GooseMod compatible with BetterDiscord / Powercord / my favourite mod?

Likely! We aim for GooseMod to work with other mods but they can change often so compatibility can be iffy. We try actively to not interfere with other mods, as we want users to use everything they want. See Compatibility with Other Mods for more information.

How do you install plugins / themes / etc?

GooseMod, unlike most other client mods, has a built-in store for modules (which can be plugins, themes, anything). Currently has over 40 modules. It also has support for local modules in the correct format but they remain a backup / development tool.

Why a built-in store?

Ease of use, primarily. Instead of having to download or clone a plugin or theme, you just go to the store to find what you want and click import. Also, as it is a curated store / index, it is more secure than just installing any random downloaded theme. The module store is maintained by us so we can review and choose what modules get in it, to help prevent malicious plugins which harm you.

A cool plugin / theme I use isn't in there, how can I get it?

GooseMod is not directly compatible with plugins from other mods and likely require ports (currently), however themes should be very easy. Please mention the plugin or theme you want in #port-requests in our Discord so we can look into it. We love to add more themes and plugins, even if it's something like a random theme someone made which only a few people use.

I made a plugin / theme for another mod and I want to port it!

First, well thanks! As GooseMod is still being actively developed, we don't really have good documentation for making your own modules yet. You can look in our Modules GitHub repository for some examples. If you want help / still want to, please mention in our Discord and we will happily help you out.
