GUI

ReconNinja v8.0.0 added a local desktop GUI — a dark-themed web app that runs entirely on your machine. Nothing leaves your host.

Launch

reconninja --gui

Opens automatically at http://127.0.0.1:7117

To use a different port:

reconninja --gui --gui-port 8080

Features

Feature Detail
Scan configuration Target input, profile selector, custom module checkboxes, output format picker, timeout slider
Live progress Real-time log stream via SSE (Server-Sent Events) — no page refresh needed
Findings dashboard Severity breakdown (Critical / High / Medium / Low / Info) with a filterable findings table
Scan history Browse all previous scan runs, reopen output directories

How It Works

The GUI is a Flask web application (gui/app.py) that:

  1. Serves a single-page dark-themed UI at http://127.0.0.1:7117
  2. Accepts scan config from the browser form
  3. Runs the same orchestrator pipeline as the CLI
  4. Streams real-time log output back to the browser via SSE
  5. Displays findings in a live dashboard once the scan completes

All scan output is saved to disk exactly as it would be via CLI — same reports/ folder structure.

Scan Configuration in the GUI

  • Target — domain, IP, CIDR, or paste multiple targets
  • Profile — Quick / Standard / Full / Custom
  • Custom modules — individual checkboxes for every module
  • Output formats — HTML / JSON / Markdown / SARIF / PDF
  • Timeout — per-operation timeout in seconds

Comparing to CLI

Everything you can do via CLI flags can be done through the GUI. The GUI does not expose every advanced flag (e.g. --masscan-rate) — for fine-grained control, use the CLI directly.

# CLI equivalent of a GUI "Full" scan
reconninja -t example.com --profile full_suite -y

Troubleshooting

GUI won't start:

pip install flask
reconninja --gui

Port already in use:

reconninja --gui --gui-port 8888

Browser doesn't open automatically:
Navigate to http://127.0.0.1:7117 manually.
