For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and applicable national data protection laws, Doghowl Games acts as the data controller in respect of personal data described in this Policy, unless otherwise stated.

By using our Services, you acknowledge that your personal data may be processed as described below.

1. What Personal Data We Collect

We collect personal data when you interact with our Services, including when you visit our website, play our games, make in-app purchases, contact support, participate in playtests, subscribe to marketing communications, or interact with us through third-party platforms.

When you visit our website or use our games, we may automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, device identifiers, device model, operating system, browser type, application version, session data, crash reports, performance diagnostics, and gameplay statistics. This information helps us ensure stability, improve performance, detect errors, and optimize the user experience.

When you play our games, we may collect gameplay data such as session duration, in-game progression, feature usage, and general behavioral metrics. This data is generally processed in a pseudonymous form and is used to improve game balance, technical functionality, and overall product quality.

If you make in-app purchases or acquire downloadable content, the transaction itself is processed by the relevant platform provider such as Apple App Store, Google Play, Steam, Epic Games Store, or console marketplaces. We do not receive or store full payment card details. We may receive confirmation data related to the transaction, such as transaction identifiers, purchased item details, timestamps, and general regional information, in order to deliver the purchased content, maintain financial records, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.

If you contact us through customer support, email, social media, or other communication channels, we may process your name, email address, and the content of your communication. This information is used to respond to your inquiry and provide assistance.

If you subscribe to newsletters or marketing communications, we process your email address and communication preferences. You may withdraw your consent and unsubscribe at any time.

If you participate in playtests, competitions, surveys, or recruitment processes, we may collect contact details and any information you voluntarily provide in that context.

We do not intentionally collect special categories of personal data within the meaning of Article 9 GDPR.

2. Legal Bases for Processing

We process personal data only where a valid legal basis exists under applicable law.

Where processing is necessary to provide our games and digital content, including the delivery of in-app purchases, it is based on the performance of a contract.

Where processing is required to comply with tax, accounting, or other legal obligations, it is based on legal necessity.

Where we rely on consent, such as for marketing communications or non-essential tracking technologies, you may withdraw your consent at any time.

In other cases, we rely on our legitimate interests, including improving our Services, ensuring security and stability, preventing fraud, analyzing usage trends, and maintaining business operations. When relying on legitimate interests, we ensure that such interests do not override your fundamental rights and freedoms.

3. Use of Analytics, Crash Reporting, and SDK Technologies

To maintain and improve our Services, we use analytics and crash reporting tools, which may include third-party technologies such as Firebase Crashlytics or similar providers. These services may collect technical data including device model, operating system version, crash logs, session diagnostics, and anonymized installation identifiers. This information is used exclusively to detect errors, ensure technical stability, and improve performance.

We may also use analytics or attribution tools to understand how users interact with our games and how marketing campaigns perform. These tools may process pseudonymous identifiers, device-level identifiers, install source information, session activity, and in-game event data. Where required by law, consent mechanisms are implemented before activating non-essential tracking.

We do not sell personal data to third parties.

4. Distribution Platforms and Third-Party Controllers

Our games may be distributed through third-party platforms such as Apple App Store, Google Play, Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, and other digital marketplaces.

These platform providers act as independent data controllers with respect to account creation, payment processing, platform-level analytics, and store functionality. Personal data processed directly by those platforms is governed by their respective privacy policies.

We receive only limited data necessary to operate our games and fulfill purchases. We encourage users to review the privacy policies of the respective platforms for detailed information about their processing activities.

5. Fraud Prevention and Security

We may process certain technical and transaction-related data to detect unauthorized purchases, prevent cheating or abuse, investigate chargebacks, and protect the integrity of our Services. Such processing is based on our legitimate interest in maintaining a secure and fair gaming environment.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. While no system can guarantee absolute security, we take reasonable and proportionate steps to safeguard data.

6. International Transfers

Personal data may be processed in countries outside the European Economic Area. Where such transfers occur, we implement appropriate safeguards in accordance with Chapter V GDPR, including the use of Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission or transfers to jurisdictions recognized as providing an adequate level of protection.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including compliance with legal obligations, accounting requirements, dispute resolution, and enforcement of agreements. Retention periods vary depending on the type of data and the applicable legal framework. When data is no longer required, it is securely deleted or anonymized.

8. Your Rights

Under GDPR and applicable laws, you may have the right to access your personal data, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion where applicable, restrict processing, object to certain types of processing, request data portability, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
