Terms of service
Last updated October 22, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Collaborators Inc. They govern your use of Cube Computer, Proton Computer, and Collab.
Definitions
The following definitions apply throughout these terms.
- Company (“we”, “us”, “our”) means Collaborators Inc., 8 The Green, Suite R, Dover, DE 19901, United States.
- Service means the Cube Computer website and service (cube.computer and its service subdomains), including its web client and desktop app; the Proton Computer website and service (proton.computer and its service subdomains), including its dashboard and command-line access; and the Collab website and web app service (collab.computer and its service subdomains), desktop app, and iOS app. It includes the cloud machines we operate for those products.
- Machine means a virtual computer we provision and run for you, together with its filesystem and everything stored on it.
- Your Content means anything you or your agents submit, store, or share through the Service — messages, files, source code, credentials, data, and output, including generated pages and apps.
- You means the individual or entity using the Service.
Acceptance
By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you disagree with any part of them, do not use the Service. You must be 18 or older. If you are using the Service for an organization, you confirm you may bind that organization.
Accounts
You sign in using the methods offered by the product, including supported identity providers or email. The products share a sign-in identity, while product access and resources are managed separately. You are responsible for activity under your account and for the security of the credentials you use to reach it. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
Cube prepaid credit and billing
New Cube cloud accounts use prepaid credit. CPU and memory use credit while a Machine runs. Persistent storage uses credit while you keep it, including while the Machine is paused. Your account shows the current configuration, rates, balance, and payment status.
You choose machine resources rather than a subscription plan. Adding credit does not start a paused Machine. You control Start and Pause in the Machine tab, and credit purchases and Auto-pay in Settings → Billing. Closing the app does not pause a Machine or stop its charges.
Eligible accounts can claim the starter credit shown during setup by saving a payment method. Claiming starter credit does not charge the card. Stripe processes payments; we do not receive or store your full card details.
If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you may have a statutory right to withdraw within fourteen days. Nothing here limits that right.
Proton billing
Public Proton computers use the shared Cube prepaid wallet and the runtime price shown when you create or start a computer. Stopped or suspended Protons accrue no Proton charges; persistent storage is included in that product’s runtime price. Closing a browser, desktop client, or SSH connection does not stop a running computer. If prepaid credit runs out, prepaid Protons are suspended and their disks retained. Adding credit does not automatically restart them. These Proton rules do not replace Cube’s separate resource and storage charges.
Collab pricing
Collab and its Collab-provisioned computers are currently free. This does not make separate Cube machines or public Proton computers free, even when you use the same sign-in. If we introduce charges for Collab, we will show the applicable terms and obtain your agreement before charging you. Accounts or model services you connect can have their own charges.
Legacy Cube subscription terms
The following provisions apply only if your account still has a legacy subscription. They do not describe a plan-selection step for new accounts.
- Paid Cube plans are billed monthly in advance at the price shown at checkout.
- Eligible new customers receive a 7-day free trial. A payment method is required to begin it. Cancel before the trial ends and you are not charged.
- Stripe processes payments. We do not receive or store your full card details.
- You may cancel at any time through authenticated Cube billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for; we do not refund partial months except where the law requires it.
- If you are a consumer in the EU or UK you may have a statutory right to withdraw within fourteen days. Nothing here limits that right.
- We may change prices with at least thirty days’ notice before the change applies to your subscription.
Your Machines and Your Content
Your Content is yours. You grant us only the permission we need to run the Service — to store, copy, process, and transmit Your Content so that machines, conversations, and agents work and so that you and the people you share with can reach it.
We do not access the contents of your Machines except where it is necessary to operate the Service, to resolve a problem you have reported, or where we are required to by law. We do not use Your Content to train models.
You are responsible for what you place on a Machine, including any credentials, and for holding your own backups. A Machine is a working environment, not a backup service.
Sharing and agents
You are responsible for having the right to share Your Content and for the people, agents, and connected services you grant access to. In Collab, thread participants can read shared messages and files; computer access can also grant access to its threads, files, and connected accounts. Removing someone does not recall copies they already received. Messages posted in someone else’s thread can remain after you leave or delete your Collab account, as described in our privacy policy.
Agents act using the instructions, files, tools, and credentials available to them. Their output can be wrong, incomplete, or unsafe; review it before relying on it or allowing consequential actions. Your use of a connected model or other third-party service is also governed by that provider’s terms. Included model access is subject to the limits made available in the product and may change.
Cube pause, suspension, and deletion
Pausing a prepaid Cube Machine stops its running processes and compute charges. Persistent files remain, and storage continues to be charged. When prepaid credit is exhausted, the Machine pauses; the balance does not become a storage debt, and exhaustion alone does not delete your files. Adding credit does not automatically start it.
If your legacy Cube subscription lapses or you cancel it, your Cube Machines stop and access is suspended. We do not delete them on a schedule — a suspended Machine and its filesystem are kept, so that resubscribing later gives you your work back as you left it.
You can request deletion of a Cube Machine or your Cube account. Deletion removes active Cube resources, while financial, anti-abuse, and other retained records are described in the privacy policy. Write to hi@cube.computer and we will confirm when it is done. If we begin deleting dormant Cube Machines, we will give notice here and by email before any deletion takes place.
Cube account deletion also deletes the shared sign-in identity. It does not automatically perform Proton or Collab data cleanup, and can affect your ability to access those products. Local workspace files are not erased by Cube’s local account cleanup. Contact us before deleting the shared sign-in if you need coordinated deletion across products.
Proton and Collab deletion
Deleting a computer in Proton’s public interface requests permanent deletion of that computer and its disk. It does not delete your shared sign-in, billing history, or other computers. Proton does not currently offer self-service account deletion; contact us for account-wide requests.
Collab’s Account settings lets you delete your Collab account, including its owned threads and computers. It retains contributions already shared in other people’s threads under a deleted-user attribution. It does not delete the shared sign-in or your separate Cube and Proton resources. Deleting an app from your device or signing out does not delete an account or stop cloud resources. See our privacy policy for retained records and backup limitations, and contact us to coordinate deletion across products.
Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to:
- break the law, or infringe anyone’s rights;
- harass people or share content without the necessary rights or permissions;
- attack, scan, or disrupt other systems, or send unsolicited bulk messages;
- mine cryptocurrency, or resell raw compute;
- host malware, or run workloads designed to conceal their purpose from us or from our infrastructure providers;
- circumvent limits on the Service, or take a share of capacity that degrades it for others.
We may suspend a Machine without notice where it threatens the Service, our providers, or a third party. We will tell you why as soon as we reasonably can.
Availability
We aim to keep the Service running but do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or discontinue parts of it. If we discontinue the Service altogether, we will give you reasonable notice and a means of retrieving Your Content.
Third-party services
The Service depends on other companies, listed in our privacy policy, and can link to services we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or their practices, and their terms apply to your use of them.
Intellectual property
The Service, excluding Your Content, belongs to us and our licensors. These terms give you no right to our trademarks or branding beyond using the Service as intended.
Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms. On termination your right to use the Service ends; the retention and deletion terms above continue to apply.
Disclaimer
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent the law allows, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, even if we were advised such damages were possible. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they apply to the greatest extent permitted.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of any mandatory law where you live.
Changes
We may revise these terms. Where a change is material we will give notice before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the revised terms.
