Is SweptPC free?
Yes, completely. SweptPC is free to download and use forever — no trial, no premium version, no subscription. Support on Ko-fi is welcome but entirely optional.
Is it safe?
Yes. SweptPC only removes files from known safe locations — temp folders, browser cache, the recycle bin, app cache. It always shows you exactly what will be deleted before anything happens, and the full source code is on GitHub for anyone to inspect.
What does it actually clean?
Windows temp files (%TEMP%, %TMP%, C:\Windows\Temp), Chrome, Edge and Firefox browser cache, the Recycle Bin across all drives, Teams and Discord app cache, and old CBS and setup logs. It scans first and shows you sizes before touching anything.
Does it need admin rights?
Not for most things. SweptPC cleans the majority of junk without any admin rights at all. Running as Administrator unlocks all 12 cleaning categories, including system-level temp files that standard users can't touch.
Does it work on Windows 11?
Yes. SweptPC runs on both Windows 10 and Windows 11 (64-bit) and is tested on both.
How is it different from CCleaner?
