HappyToHelp
Alternative to Zendesk
Also replaces Intercom, Help Scout, Freshdesk
Your Codex or Claude fixes the problem and writes the reply.
HappyToHelp is a customer support desk where your own Codex or Claude investigates the problem, fixes it and drafts the reply, and you press Send. It brings a website chat widget, a shared inbox for chat and email, a help center and replies drafted from your own articles into one place. You can try it beside your current helpdesk and bring your history over when you are ready.
What it does
- Let your own Codex or Claude, running on your computer, investigate a customer's problem, fix it and draft the reply for you to send
- Put a chat widget on your website that offers a hand when a visitor seems stuck
- Answer chat and email from one shared inbox, with customer details beside each conversation, assignment rules, saved-reply macros, snoozing and merging of duplicates
- Publish a searchable help center that customers use to find answers themselves
- Get suggested replies drafted from your own articles, with the source shown
- Collect a thumbs up or down on resolved conversations and see reports you can export
- Connect with scoped API tokens, signed webhooks and Slack
- Bring over your help center and history from Zendesk, Help Scout, Intercom or Freshdesk while your current helpdesk keeps running
What it promises
- Imports are reviewed before anything is written, send no messages to your customers, can be undone as a whole, and keep source dates, private notes and publication state.
- Customer and agent messages are stored once, and two conflicting final replies can never both be accepted.
- Customers can rate a resolution with a thumbs up or down and a short comment, and comments are removed if the contact is erased.
- Reports use your own calendar and time zone, count each conversation once, and export to a spreadsheet file that is safe to open.
- Messages are saved before they are shown live, so a reload or dropped connection recovers everything that was sent, and an AI draft never becomes a final answer until it is safely accepted.
- With no AI key, the AI is simply not assigned to new conversations and your team keeps them; automatic AI work has daily limits and uncertain attempts are never silently repeated.
- Revoking a computer's access ends its authority at once, and HappyToHelp never claims that work already running there was stopped.
- API tokens have chosen scopes, are shown once, are stored hashed and can expire; an unclear webhook result is not sent again.
- Teammates can sign in with an authenticator app or a security key plus one-time recovery codes, and an owner can require it for everyone or by role.
- You can export your conversations, files, contacts, help articles, settings and history in one checked archive and restore it into a clean installation; sign-ins and provider secrets are left out.
