Anyone else having ChatGPT or dot redirect them to the original task instead of using Remote Desktop Commander? #821
Has anyone else experienced this with Remote Desktop Commander in ChatGPT or dot?
When I ask the assistant to inspect local files through Remote Desktop Commander, it keeps telling me to return to the original task or enable separate computer access instead of using the RDC tools in the current conversation.
This also happens in dot, so it is not limited to a regular ChatGPT web conversation.
RDC’s list_devices reports my Mac as Online, and I explicitly select the RDC plugin when making the request. However, the assistant stops before attempting read_file or list_directory, so there is no actual file-access error from RDC.
Environment:
macOS
Remote Desktop Commander v0.2.52
ChatGPT and dot
Has anyone seen the same behavior? Were you able to get the assistant to use RDC directly in the current conversation without returning to the original task? Is there a known setup requirement or workaround?
