Spyder variable explorer crashes when visualizing quantities array #164

Open

Description

@moux233

Hello all,
I use Spyder 3.3.6
When I create an array quantity as follows:
a0 = pq.Quantity(np.random.normal(loc=0.5, size=(60, 23)), 'Oe')
It appears in the variable explorer.
When I double click in the variable explorer to inspect the data, Spyder crashes.
Repeated multiple times.
Spyder does not crash with scalar and vector quantities, nor with numpy arrays.
Any clue?

    Have you raised this issue on the Spyder issue tracker? It sounds more like a Spyder issue than a quantities one.

    Thanks for the advice, I have reported the issue on the Spyder issue tracker.
    However, the fact that Spyder does not crash with numpy arrays, pandas, xarrays, my own array subclass, but strictly with quantities arrays, puzzles me.
