I think you need to learn a bit about theory first, and that would help you ease into things. And hacking is a very broad term, you might actually start off with pentesting, or network mapping. |

I’d recommend checking out Cisco Networking Academy. They have free cybersecurity courses, and their Ethical Hacker course is a good option if you want to get into hacking. |
Welcome to cybersecurity! If you've only been learning for 2-3 months, don't worry, everyone starts somewhere. Focus on networking, Linux, operating systems, and Python first, then move into hands-on labs and CTFs. Free Learning Platforms Resource Collections Top GitHub Security Repositories Strix (AI penetration testing) Awesome-Hacking (Huge collection of hacking resources) ClearCam (AI-powered security camera enhancement) Anthropic Cybersecurity Skills Caddy (Automatic HTTPS web server) Shannon (AI Web Application Pentester) Obtainium (Direct Android app updates) Anubis (Protection against AI crawlers) mitmproxy (HTTP/HTTPS interception proxy) Gitleaks (Secret scanning) Sniffnet (Network traffic monitoring) Nuclei (Vulnerability scanner) Trivy (Container & code security scanner) Infisical (Secrets management) PayloadsAllTheThings (Pentest payload collection) x64dbg (Reverse engineering debugger) TruffleHog (Credential leak detection) KeePassXC (Password manager) Keycloak (Identity & Access Management) iPATool (iOS application toolkit) Wazuh (Open-source XDR & SIEM) Mobile Verification Toolkit (Mobile forensics) OWASP Juice Shop (Practice vulnerable web app) Authelia (SSO & MFA authentication) Radare2 (Reverse engineering framework) Chezmoi (Secure dotfile management) Nmap (Network mapper) Authentik (Identity provider & SSO) Web-Check (Website OSINT analysis) Setup-IPSec-VPN (Build your own VPN server) Recommended YouTube Channels Suggested learning path: Linux → Networking → Python → TryHackMe → OverTheWire → PortSwigger Academy → OWASP Juice Shop → Hack The Box. Don't try to learn every tool at once. Focus on understanding how systems work and practice consistently in legal labs and CTF environments. Good luck on your cybersecurity journey! 🚀🔐 |
