**Title:** How do I create and install a GitHub App that appears under Installed GitHub Apps? Hello! I want to create or install a GitHub App that appears in my GitHub account under Settings → Applications → Installed GitHub Apps, like ChatGPT Codex Connector in the screenshot. Could someone explain the exact steps required to achieve this? I would like to understand how to create a GitHub App, configure its permissions, and install it on my account so that it appears in this section. Thank you! #210589

to make an application appear under settings then- applications then in- installed github apps, it must be successfully installed on your account and If you are using a third-party app: Go to the application's public landing page or the GitHub marketplace |

Hi @YaricheK2009, From your screenshot, the apps listed (ChatGPT Codex Connector, Railway App) are third-party apps. You don't create those. They appear in Installed GitHub Apps after you approve their install on your account, usually when you click "Connect GitHub" inside that service, or from its GitHub Marketplace page. Approve it for your account and the repos you pick, and it shows up under Settings > Applications > Installed GitHub Apps. If you want your own app to appear there:

Hi @YaricheK2009! To answer your question directly: You do not need to create your own GitHub App if you just want to use third-party tools like ChatGPT Codex Connector or Railway (shown in your screenshot). Those are external services that you simply install. Here is a clear explanation of how both options work: Option 1: Installing an Existing Third-Party App (What is shown in your screenshot)Apps like ChatGPT Codex Connector and Railway are created and hosted by external providers. To install them:
Option 2: Creating and Installing Your Own Custom GitHub AppIf you are developing your own custom bot, script, or automated tool and want it to appear in that section:
Now, your custom app will also be listed under Settings → Applications → Installed GitHub Apps! Summary

Hi @YaricheK2009, The important distinction is that creating a GitHub App and installing a GitHub App are two separate steps.
Once installed, you can check Settings → Applications → Installed GitHub Apps. One important security tip: grant access only to the repositories and permissions the app actually needs. Also, registering an app alone won't make it appear in the installed-apps list — it must be installed separately. Official documentation: |

Hello To solve this problem completely you must make sure that you register the app blueprint inside developer settings and then execute the separate install step onto your profile. First click your profile picture in the upper right corner and select settings. Executing these steps generates the active installation tokens that force the application out of developer mode and places it under your installed GitHub apps page. In conclusion registering the app only saves the design layout while the installation step creates the functional connection required to display the application in your final account dashboard. Title: How can I install an application on GitHub so it appears under Installed GitHub Apps?
Hello! I would like to install an application on my GitHub account so that it appears under Settings → Applications → Installed GitHub Apps, similar to the applications shown in the screenshot.
Could someone please explain how to install an application this way? Do I need to create a GitHub App, or can I install an existing third-party application?
Thank you for your help!
