GitHub website unexpectedly jumps to the bottom while scrolling #210047

Could be the page loading or resizing content as you scroll, which makes the browser suddenly adjust your position. An extension could also be interfering. Does it jump at the same spot every time? Try the same page in another browser or with extensions disabled. |

It looks very similar to this issue about Actions: https://github.com/orgs/community/discussions/156188 |

Hi @BananaOfficial 👋🏼 , Could you share a bit more details so I can pass this along to the proper team to investigate? If you could share the browser and version as well as any screen recordings that would be helpful. Thanks for reporting this! |

This sounds like a possible browser-specific issue or interference from an extension, although the exact cause is not clear from the description alone. I'd suggest trying these steps first:
GitHub's official troubleshooting guide recommends these checks for unexpected website behavior: https://docs.github.com/en/get-started/using-github/supported-browsers If the issue continues, sharing your browser and version, operating system, scrolling method (mouse wheel or touchpad), and a short screen recording would help narrow down the cause. Does the jump happen in an incognito window with extensions disabled, too? |

Uh oh!
There was an error while loading. Please reload this page.

GitHub website unexpectedly jumps to the bottom while scrolling
When scrolling down from the top of a GitHub page, the page suddenly jumps directly to the bottom.
This only occurs when scrolling from top to bottom. Normal scrolling in other directions does not seem to trigger it. (mostly happens to me on long pages)
How to test it:
The expected behavior the page scrolls smoothly and follows the user's scroll input but the actual behavior is that the page unexpectedly jumps to the bottom.
