This is a frustrating situation where an error prevents login, and then requesting too many codes locks the account temporarily. Here is the recommended action plan: Stop requesting SMS: If you keep getting the 500 error, stop clicking the "send SMS" button for a while. The "too many sms" message means GitHub has temporarily rate-limited your requests for security reasons. Check GitHub Status: The 500 error might indicate a temporary problem on GitHub's end with their SMS delivery partner. You can check the GitHub Status page to see if there are any reported incidents . Use Recovery Codes (If you have them): If you saved your recovery codes when you first set up 2FA, use them. On the login screen, click "Enter a two-factor recovery code" . Contact GitHub Support (Last Resort): Since you mentioned you lost your recovery codes and cannot log in, you must contact GitHub Support for account recovery. Because you are locked out, the normal support path is specific. Visit the GitHub 2FA Recovery form (you can find this by searching GitHub Support for "2FA recovery"). You will need to provide your username and proof of account ownership , . |

When I try to login to my github account for first time in another browser it send an sms to my device for 2FA but give me 500 internal error said "We track these errors automatically, but if the problem persists feel free to contact us. In the meantime, try refreshing." and I can not do login. after some refresh it goes with "we send too many sms use your recovery code" that I have lost it.
It also happens when I try to reset password. it sends me the sms but got the same 500 internal page error too.
I really need help cause I can not login to my personal github account right now and it has been about 3 days
what should I do know?
