Your blog needs a way to receive feedback. I would really like to have commented that you can convert any plain maven artifact to an OSGI bundle during a maven build (and then consume the OSGI bundle) via https://github.com/reficio/p2-maven-plugin

That way you should be able to consume the original maven artifact in your build without taking any of the thirdparty conversions listed.
