Add ability to specify custom region and addressing style for s3 #1479

Open

Description

@fackyhigh

Summary

In the console while adding new s3 destination there is no way to specify bucket region except of those which are present in dropdown. There are much more regions than these: https://github.com/jitsucom/jitsu/blob/newjitsu/webapps/console/lib/schema/destinations.tsx#L45

I suggest adding an additional input "other region", and when it's chosen a text filed appears to write your custom region.

As well there are many clouds which works with s3 objects in virtual-host addressing style. Here I suggest to add ability to choose between path-style and vhost.

System configuration and versions

I've used both Jitsu versions 2.11.0 and jitsu next.

    @Jasowills

    Hi! I'm interested in working on this issue.

    I've read the contributing guidelines and looked at webapps/console/lib/schema/destinations.tsx (s3Regions const + S3 zod schema around L755/L891).

    My approach would be to:

    1. Add a "Custom / Other" region option with free-text input, preserving current defaults
    2. Add addressing-style selector (path-style vs virtual-hosted), defaulting to current behavior
    3. Wire both through the zod schema + editor UI, with typecheck/lint/tests

    I see it's currently assigned — please let me know if you're already on it or if I can take it on. Any guidance on preferred UX appreciated!
