[bug]: git repo not detected in NixOS VM ssh target #2990

Bug Description

attempted to create a project using the ssh host, and two weird things happened: 1. the file system I was browsing was that of my local machine, not the ssh target, and 2. even if I select the local machine's mounted folder with a git repo on it, a git repository is still not detected. (however, if i select just the local folder on the local host instead of trying to use ssh, the git repo on my local machine is of course detected)

Steps to Reproduce

  1. create orbstack nixos vm with mounted (virtofs) local folder containing a git repository
  2. set up ssh connection
  3. attempt to create a project using the ssh host, and two weird things happen: 1. the file system you are browsing is that of the local machine, not the ssh host, and 2. even if you select the local machine's mounted folder with a git repo on it, a git repository is still not detected

Actual vs Expected Behavior

expected git repo to be detected and expected to be browsing the file system of the ssh host

emdash Version

v1.1.40

Operating System

local: MacOS Tahoe 26.5.2, VM: NixOS 25 running using Orbstack

Additional Context

was stoked to try out the app, but if it doesn't work with a declarative sandbox VM, it's not usable for me!
