No newer tag yet; If you want to stay on rc7, the backport is small. In rc7 the forced value comes from two places (
With your effort unset, You can skip the rest of #1066 for this. Migration |

Hi all — quick question about #1066 / commit fce1f8e.
We are currently running Utopia 0.1.0-rc7 in production and we hit the exact issue this change appears to fix.
Our workspace is configured with:
Extraction works, but align_types and align_phrases fail because rc7 forces reasoning_effort=low internally. OpenAI returns:
400 Bad Request: Unrecognized request argument supplied: reasoning_effort
As a result, alignment never completes. In the affected KB we currently have:
22 entities
0 typed entities
0 type_bindings
0 phrase_bindings
The logs show the aligner finding the kind words/classes correctly, then failing on the LLM call and exhausting its re-asks.
I can see Every model call uses the workspace's reasoning effort, and none is a value: alignment no longer thinks on its own #1066 fixes this by making alignment use the workspace reasoning-effort setting, and that it has already reached main.
Do you expect a new RC/tag soon that includes this change?
If not, would you recommend backporting just the relevant part of Every model call uses the workspace's reasoning effort, and none is a value: alignment no longer thinks on its own #1066 onto rc7 and building a custom image, rather than deploying current main?
Thanks.
