Currently, the GCP Vertex AI provider in Cline only supports Application Default Credentials (ADC) and requires setting up the gcloud CLI locally.
Google Cloud recently introduced Vertex AI Express Mode, which allows us to access enterprise Vertex AI endpoints using just a standard API Key.
It would be awesome if you could add a simple API Key input field to the GCP Vertex AI configuration panel. This would make it much easier to connect to Vertex AI without dealing with complex local IAM/ADC setups, while still keeping GCP enterprise billing and privacy.
