Overview

We're excited to share that v5.0.0 of the Auth0 Python SDK is now GA! This major release represents a significant evolution of the Python client library for Auth0, designed to make integrating with Auth0's Authentication and Management APIs simpler, clearer, and more Pythonic.

• OpenAPI-generated SDK based on Auth0's official specifications using Fern
• Stronger type safety using Pydantic models for all request/response objects
• First-class async support with AsyncAuth0 and AsyncManagementClient
• Automatic pagination support with SyncPager and AsyncPager iterables
• Automatic token management with client credentials in ManagementClient
• Built-in retry logic with configurable attempts and backoff
• Access to raw HTTP responses via .with_raw_response for headers and rate-limit info
• Nullability annotations on all generated models
• Simplified client initialization - just pass domain instead of full base_url

Client Initialization

The Management API client initialization has been simplified and now supports automatic token management.

Before (v4):

After (v5): Using ManagementClient (Recommended)

Before (v4): Dictionary responses

Before (v4):

📦 Installation

pip install auth0-python

Requirements:

• Python ≥3.8 (Python 3.7 support has been dropped)

📌 Important Notes

• The Authentication API remains functionally compatible - GetToken, Database, Passwordless, etc. work the same way
• Management API has breaking changes - Method signatures, response types, and import paths have changed
• Minor breaking changes may occur in future releases - Since the SDK is generated from Auth0's OpenAPI specification which is still being stabilized, some minor breaking changes may occur until the APIs are fully stabilized
• v4.x will receive security fixes only - We recommend migrating to v5 to get the latest features and OpenAPI spec updates
