What happened?
I use a CW paddle remotely through a serial port configured in AetherSDR.
While TUNE is active and the radio is transmitting its normal continuous carrier, I operate the CW paddle. At that moment, the continuous TUNE carrier is interrupted and the radio starts transmitting an RF signal that follows the rhythm of the paddle manipulation.
This happens even when the selected operating mode is not CW.
When I release the paddle:
The keyed RF signal stops.
The continuous TUNE carrier does not return.
The radio remains in TX.
The TUNE button remains active.
Pressing TUNE again returns the radio to RX.
What did you expect?
Operating the remote CW paddle while TUNE is active should not interrupt or modify the continuous TUNE carrier,
Steps to reproduce
Connect remotely to the radio using AetherSDR.
Configure a CW paddle through the serial port.
Select any operating mode other than CW.
Press TUNE.
Confirm that the radio transmits the normal continuous TUNE carrier.
While TUNE remains active, operate the CW paddle.
Observe that the continuous carrier is interrupted.
Observe that the radio transmits an RF signal following the rhythm of the paddle manipulation.
Release the paddle.
Observe that the TUNE carrier does not return, although the radio remains in TX and the TUNE button remains active.
Press TUNE again to return the radio to RX.
