Hi, I'm trying to map my ports on macOS using Windows version. I get this error:
The system is practically fresh, using B450 A Pro Max motherboard. Also tried running as admin - same problem. Could you please help me?
I am actually attaching a .zip with a whole dump of my sys and with my json dump, see the link https://easyupload.io/gukid0
btw, I think there is something with the internal USB. I did try making a kext with your tool couple of months ago when I got this system and I could do it without any issues.
Then I have ordered a BCM94360CD apple card with an adapter, installed that and tried again months later, and faced with this error. So, I think that might be the issue (because the USB Broadcom BT module in the card), but not sure. I'll take a look at the logs and do tests without a card if I have time. I did actually tried the tool on a VM with the same version and it did discover the ports without any issues.
Feel free to ask anything, I am really appreciate your work, this is a really good tool.
Interesting. I'm on 22623 and it works for me, so it's almost definitely not a Windows issue. There's been issues with drivers before (ie. NoMachine), so the BCM94360CD observation makes it seem like there's a driver issue. It looks like I'll have to deal with that in usbdump
@sourcelocation do you have an Apple WiFi card installed by any chance?
Unfortunately no luck.. I have actually removed my BCM card from the PC and re-run the tool, I had the same error.
Not sure... Should I try with a fresh install? It is really strange that it was working couple months before..
Or, please send me instructions and I'll check them

Yea - the bug is a genuine bug in my code, but it seems to only be triggered by Parsec USB controllers (at least for my testers) which is why I've never run into it

I can reproduce this issue, should I send you logs somehow?
sourcelocation commentedon Jan 26, 2023
Whoops, didn't read the README and somehow GitHub glitched and didn't show me template options - my apologies. Attached logs.json.
logs.txt
And to reproduce, just press D to discover ports

What hardware is this? CPU and USB devices present? Windows version?

@kushwavez can you upload a debug log and list your hardware specs + Windows version?

@dhinakg I'm using Ryzen 5 5600x, keyboard and mouse were connected at the time of running script.

kushwavez commentedon Jan 27, 2023
Do you want me to try again w/out the Broadcom card? just to be sure. no prob for me.

Disabling WiFi cards from Device Manager didn't work.

so i managed to use the tool normally.
i don't know what was changed, and if anything changed really, but i now use Windows 11 and it worked.

So it took way too long, but I think I finally figured out what the issue was...
New test build coming shortly
