Typical HTML element support patterns by screen readers:

<h2 id="about-voiceover-on-mac">About VoiceOver on Mac</h2>
<p>
VoiceOver is the built-in screen reader on macOS. It is available on all Mac computers and although it is designed to work with Safari can be used with Chrome and Firefox.

<strong>VoiceOver</strong> doesn't have a concept of "reading" or "applications" modes like some other screen readers. Instead, it uses a combination of keyboard commands and a "Rotor" menu to navigate and interact with content.

Some oddities noted with Chrome (Version 141.0.7390.123):
<ul>
<li>With proper <code><h*></code> elements, it reports correctly up to level 9. After that it ignores the <code>aria-level</code> and reverts to what the real heading level would be if not overridden.
<li>On the <code>div</code>'s example, after level 9 it reports all headings as level 2 in Chrome.
<li>With <code>aria-label</code>, it ignores the <code>aria-level</code> (same as the first example without <code>aria-label</code> text, reverting back to the heading level that would have been exposed by default from the heading element.
