I’m Francis, a software engineer based in Lagos, Nigeria. I’ve worked across product engineering, backend systems, and payments infrastructure.

I currently work at Talstack, a people management platform, where I lead delivery of our HRIS product. That includes employee records, documents, access controls, and a workflows engine. Most of my work there is in Haskell and PostgreSQL.

Previously, I worked on cross-border payments at Nala, building backend systems in Go. I’m particularly interested in distributed systems, developer tools, and the work of keeping software reliable in production.

I also run Hakase Development Studio, a small studio for backend engineering and infrastructure.

Outside work, I play the piano, and spend time with my lovely family. This site is where I write about software, things I’m learning, and projects I’m building.
