With powerful AI tools and millions of beautiful templates, Canva makes it easy for anyone to craft engaging social media stories, polished posters, compelling presentations, and much more.
Here are five tips for getting more out of the app—no design experience required.
1. Ask Canva AI for advice
Tag @Canva in the comments and it’ll weigh in with feedback—or make the edits for you, on request. To find it, open any design and tap the Canva AI icon on the tab bar, or hit the three dots to jump straight to comments.
2. Clean up your photos
Distracting item ruining your shot? Magic Eraser and Background Remover can clean it right up. Find them alongside other retouching tools under “Photo editor” on the Create tab.
3. Add some magic to your images
With Canva’s Magic Layers, you can edit individual elements within any image—even ones generated by AI. Tap an element in your design to resize, rearrange, or tweak it. To try it, head to the Create tab and tap the Magic Layers icon.
4. Build your own mini-app
Create a mini-app or website in seconds with Canva Code—and if you use Canva’s Brand Kit, all your preferred fonts, color palettes, and logos are automatically applied. Find it by tapping Code on the Create tab.
5. Prompt the perfect template
Customize one of Canva’s millions of templates to fit your business, or generate a brand-new one from scratch. To modify an existing design, head to the Templates tab, pick one, and tap Canva AI to customize it. Or describe what you want on the Create tab’s search bar and tap Generate to create something new.
