For forcing someone to pay $1.99 to even access this game feels scammy considering the gameplay is the same thing over and over again. This could’ve been a free game with the option to pay $1.99 to remove ads.The gameplay is very dull and repetitive. You have to play a 5th of the game before you unlock a 4th type of arrow mechanic. I feel this game could be so much more. Don’t box your game in on itself. Expand some of its core principles that make it stand out. Give some teleportation lines, add collisions rules for some levels, make bridges/tunnels, etc.I think this is a great concept, but being forced to pay for this isn’t it.
Thanks for the detailed feedback. I do want to clarify though that I don’t think “scammy” is a fair description of Zyl. It is a small paid game at $1.99, with no ads, no IAP, no tracking of personal data, and no payment to remove annoyances later. What you see in the screenshots is what the game is.The slower progression is intentional. I wanted the game to feel calm and relaxing, not overwhelming too early. A lot of the variety comes from how the existing mechanics combine across levels, rather than constantly adding new mechanics. The later levels make you use upto 8-10 arrows with multiple entries and exits and it becomes quite challenging to find a good path with them. That said, I understand the point about wanting more variety sooner and more mechanics, and I’ll add that in future updates as new level packs. I will also consider ramping up the difficulty faster. Thanks for playing and for taking the time to share specific thoughts.
