Orca Mobile is the companion app for Orca, the open-source agentic coding workspace for macOS, Linux, and Windows. Pair your iPhone to your desktop in seconds and pick up a terminal session from the couch, the kitchen, or across the office.
WHAT IT DOES
• Live mirror of your desktop terminal, including running AI agent sessions (Claude Code, Codex, custom CLIs).
• Full keyboard input — type, tab-complete, Ctrl-C, scroll back, all from the phone.
• Multi-worktree, multi-terminal: jump between projects with a tap.
• Phone-fit zoom and a smart on-screen keyboard with quick Ctrl/Alt accessory keys and shortcuts.
• Background long-running commands and get a notification when a TUI goes idle (e.g. when Claude finishes thinking).
HOW IT WORKS
Orca Mobile is a thin client. Nothing runs on your phone except the viewer. Your code, your shells, your AI agents — all of that stays on your desktop. The phone shows you what's happening and forwards your keystrokes back over an encrypted local-network connection.
Pairing is end-to-end encrypted. Your desktop generates a one-time keypair and shows a QR code; you scan it from the app. After that, all traffic between phone and desktop is sealed with that pair's keys.
PRIVACY
• No analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no third-party SDKs of any kind in the iOS app.
• Pairing tokens and your preference list live in the app's own sandbox. The app's traffic to your desktop is end-to-end encrypted on your local network only.
• The Orca desktop app collects anonymized usage metrics per the policy at https://www.onorca.dev/privacy. The mobile app itself does not.
• Open source: every line is auditable at https://github.com/stablyai/orca.
REQUIREMENTS
• An iPhone (iOS 16+) on the same Wi-Fi as your desktop.
• The Orca desktop app, free, from https://www.onorca.dev/ or https://github.com/stablyai/orca/releases.
This is literally the best remote access tool to control and maintain AI agents. Auto reconnects, fast and easy setup, no crashes, voice models - this app is the best app to choose from, for managing your agents. Especially the remote browser feature, and ease of use in multiple tabs - favorite ones
Mobile App feels like second thought

I love Orca - don’t get me wrong there. I’d consider myself a power user as I have daily used the desktop app for the past 4-6 months. I consistently use 4-5 different models every week at the same time to work on large projects from my hobbies, personal projects, career/job work, etc. and being able to spawn everything from your device remotely is the biggest reason I moved to using Orca instead of another IDE or just using herdr in the terminal. It’s an amazing tool to amplify your capabilities and use everything to the max potential. My biggest complaint has really been with the mobile app. I personally don’t like the dark mode for the desktop app, it stays in light mode 90% of the time. Not having the same personalization and even settings menu as the desktop app is frustrating at times. I’ll be away from my host machine and wish I could look at the same settings the desktop app displays. Even the actual terminal/cli/chat interface is functionally different than the desktop app with what hyperlinked files it lets you open and view in an additional tab. The mobile app would be top tier if it was just an exact port of the desktop app. I hope the devs can make this happen eventually :)
No Way to Close Terminal Windows on iPad
fre1999
This app works well overall, but there is a major missing feature on iPad: you cannot close a terminal window. Once a terminal session is open, there is no close button, and no option in the menu to dismiss it. This makes it difficult to manage multiple sessions and leaves the interface cluttered. Please add the ability to close terminal windows or tabs on iPad, just like on desktop. Until then, the iPad experience feels incomplete.
Answer and Reasoning display
very good UX
Pretty good client. However, the current version has both the agent answer and reasoning processes displayed, seems the collapse doesn’t take effort, but you click collapse it reveal the same thought processes in a popup with raw JSON in red. Also everything is displayed above the user’s request, both the actual answer and the reasoning text.
