As ruler of a crumbling kingdom, you face challenging choices. Do you grant freedom to a good-hearted spy? Spend limited funds to cure a village of sick children? And what to do about your spouse and newborn twins? Even the sweetest sovereign must sometimes deny aid to those in need – but if you figure out how to please enough of your subjects, they’ll shower you with crucial resources.
A delicate balance
You can also keep funds flowing by forging alliances with neighbouring kingdoms; over time, you’ll hopefully grow strong enough to repel rivals. Just remember: building trust with certain lords and ladies can upset others. Who can you count on, and who should you rebuff? That’s up to you, Your Majesty.
