The best experience to start learning a new language on your own

I don’t really like to write reviews but this is different because I was surprised how app teaches you the basics but covers all skills like reading, writing, listening, and speaking. I was surprised how fast I memorized all the new words,terms, and grammar without any difficulty, the information just kept sinking into my brain in a fun and a game-like learning experience. Thank you for this amazing app. I started recommending it to my family and friends already, the learning process is really great and fun.. I think everyone should try it.. believe me it will make your day better I’m looking forward to seeing how good I’ll get by the end of next month (i.e. February), I will write another review and share my experience with you. Wish me good luck!

Unprofessional Behavior from the Spanish Account on x

As a long-time user and supporter of Duolingo, I was extremely disappointed by the recent behavior of the Spanish-language Duolingo account on social media. Mocking or disrespecting TWICE, or any artist for that matter, is highly unprofessional and goes against the values I believed this platform stood for. Duolingo is supposed to be a space for learning, cultural exchange, and positivity—not a place that fuels fan wars or targets specific groups with inappropriate comments.It’s concerning to see an official account engaging in behavior that feels biased, disrespectful, and harmful to the reputation of a group that has worked hard to earn global recognition. TWICE has fans from around the world, many of whom use Duolingo to learn new languages—Korean included. To see this kind of unnecessary negativity from a platform that promotes learning and diversity is incredibly disappointing.I truly hope Duolingo takes responsibility for this and ensures their team upholds a higher standard of professionalism moving forward. If this is the tone the brand chooses to adopt, it will lose the trust of many loyal users, including myself. Please do better.

Horrible Experience with Timer

The battery timer instead of having five chances to make a mistake is hands down the most horrible, treacherous, and capitalist decision ever made. It’s one thing to use AI but to hinder people’s learning just so you can rage bait them into buying a pro or max subscription has got to be a new low. Even while doing a legendary lesson I noticed that with each answer it takes out two from the timer instead of one. Furthermore some questions require hearing a few sentences before picking an answer and the timer doesn’t put that into consideration. I don’t know who is behind this horrible decision but they must be the same person who made the AI decision because both are decisions made on the basis of cutting costs and making money rather than achieving the goal of the app which is to make learning languages easier. All in all, the timer will most definitely be the reason I delete this app and I highly recommend they go back to the 5 chance method because not everyone can afford a pro or max account.
