Revenge is a dish best served cold in martial arts adventure Sifu. You’re on a mission to take out the gang that killed your father, but to reach them you’ll need to navigate a treacherous criminal underworld. This is a game of fast-paced combat, where you need to deploy all the skills in your arsenal to defeat armies of elite warriors.
What we love: You’ll feel like you’re the protagonist of your very own action movie in this stylish console transfer. Sure, you could just mash the controls and hope for the best, but – like a true martial artist – you’ll get better results if you master the vast array of moves (some of them unlockable) at your disposal. It’s also wise to keep your wits about you so you can seize the opportunity to unleash weapons and skills that may only be available for a split second. Death doesn’t mean the end, but there is a trade-off to resurrection. Every time you respawn you also age, becoming more vulnerable to attack and losing access to certain moves. The question is, can you reach the big boss before old age catches up with you?
Quick tip: Even in the Student mode, Sifu doesn’t go easy on newbies. Luckily, you can train against skilled opponents in your dojo – you won’t regret having a few special moves and combos in your locker before you head into battle.
Meet the creator: French developer Sloclap launched its first combat game, Absolver, on PC and consoles in 2017, before releasing the original Sifu in 2022 and football-with-a-twist game Rematch in 2025.
