The Elusive Mythical Pets

The Mythical Pets are your keys to victory. If you manage to keep three of them on the table at the same time, you’ll win the game! But this won’t happen by sheer luck; these fickle pets are easy to spot and hard to keep. You’ll need to build up a sizeable defense first if you want any hope of surviving the barrage of attacks your rivals will unleash.

The Talented Trick Pets

How do you spend your turn? These guys give you options.

Each Trick Pet unlocks a new ability you can use on your turn. They can draw cards, lay eggs, steal rivals’ pets, dig through the trash, and more!

Pets don’t get used up; they stick around for future use. So get creative and build a game-winning engine with your fluffy friends.

The Grizzled Guard Pets

These cohorts protect you and your other pets during your rivals’ turns. Some block attacks, while others retaliate (by stealing another pet back, for instance). Guard Pets can even react to other Guard Pets, causing intricate chain reactions.

A large part of the strategy in this game arises from weaving through your rivals’ defenses while building up your own.

The Chaotic Quick Cards

Unlike pets, Quick Cards are single-use cards that launch you toward your goals. As numerous and dynamic as the pets, they must be used with precision and wit. Time Stones are beautiful plastic gems included in the game, representing extra actions you can take during your turn.

With careful planning, you can build a system that produces time stones and drives you toward victory at the same time.

We didn’t cheap out on these cards. You’ll find that each card has:

• Thick, 300gsm core cardstock, designed to flex without bending
• UV protection, protecting the vibrant colors from fading
• A pleasant linen coating

These cards are made to resist the wear and tear that will come from hundreds of play sessions. They handle beautifully, are satisfying to the touch, and shuffle with a crisp riffle.

Each card was lovingly illustrated by the designer of the game, and all the pets have been infused with huge personalities that match their respective abilities, giving your family and friends plenty to laugh at as you engage in ruthless battle.

I designed Super Battle Pets when working in childcare. Stationed in a center for seven to twelve-year-olds, I wanted to provide them with an activity that truly challenged them and entertained them. So, I brought in a pack of blank cards and pens, and they all began to draw animals and write rules. What began in chaos was slowly refined to become a highly strategic, balanced game. Eventually, I became so excited about the concept that I illustrated each animal, perfected the rules, and manufactured the game.

It’s my belief that kids are much smarter than we give them credit for, especially in the world of boardgames. This game is the great equalizer between children and adults. By using language and rules that are simple to understand but allow for complex interactions, I’ve created a game that allows everyone to engage fully. Players will win based on their creativity and ability to adapt to an ever-changing battlefield of logic and chance.
